Community

This is where you can find details for my community outreach program and the latest examples of my how-to videos. For fuller discussion, boating help, seafaring techniques and samples of the wonderful boating life I live, go to my blog. Suggestions welcome!

I am regularly lecturing on practical boating issues and all are welcome, with the host's permission. I am also filming two sets of professionally-produced videos: One is feature-length DVDs about specific boating subjects like replacing running rigging and seamanship issues. The other is designed for the internet and available on my blog. These are shorter, usually about ten minutes and cover highly-focused issues. I am focusing on the unique and solid insights I have as a professional shipwright, rigger and longtime, active sailor.

Current Lecture: Rope Tricks! Uses and Proper Line Handling Aboard. A quick overview of common-sense docking, anchoring, towing, heavy weather line handling and easy ways to tie a few basic knots, too.
